The ruling junta started a crackdown on these armed groups. The Kachin Independence Organisation (KIO) is one of them. After 16 years of peace in northern Burma, the Kachin are now on the verge of a war they can never win. To enter the area under the control of the KIO, Mizzima TV’s team had to travel through China.
