Clash between Ta’ang Army and Myanmar Army Division-77 Troops

According to report sent in from the front, a clash took place from 1200 to 1230 hours between
troops from TNLA Battalion 717 and Division-77 of Burma/Myanmar Army, at a place between Kyauk Pyu
and Panlaw villages, in the Sub-township of Mine Ngoc Township.
In that clash, 2 from Myanmar Army Division-77 were killed. There was no casualty on the TNLA side.
Development taking place after the clash will be reported in detail, later.
Clashes have been taking place in Ta’ang Region, as the Myanmar Army has been launching military
operations with the plan of wiping out the Ta’ang Army, using more than 60 battalions of troops from
Divisions 77, 88, 55, 11, MOC (1) and MOC (16).

Clash between Troops from Burma/Myanmar Army and TNLA, KIA and MNDAA

Clashes took place twice from 0600 to 0630 hours and from 0700 hours up to the time of this report,
between troops from the Burma/Myanmar Army and from Ta’ang Army (TNLA), Kachin Independence Army
(KIA) and Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA) near Kaung-mu-lain village in Mon-koe
Sub-Township, Museh Township.
There was no casualty on the side of the TNLA, KIA and MNDAA. Casualty on the Myanmar side is
not known. Any news following the clash will be reported later.

A Clash Broke Out between TNLA and Burma/Myanmar Army Troops
May 19, 2014
On May 19 at 0200 hours, on tip off, the Ta’ang Army troops raided the house of Walaik militia’s
house in Wa-line village of Namkham Township, Pan-say Region, to seize narcotic drugs. In the raid, the
Ta’ang Army troops seized 20 Viss (30 Kg) of raw opium, 10 packages (2,000 tablets) of amphetamine, 4 M-
22 rifles and 2 M-20 pistols.
While the raid was in progress, Myanmar Army troops from Division-88, based in Wa-line militia
camp, fired on the Ta’ang Army troops. The Ta’ang Army troops fired 3 RPG rounds into the camp in
response. As a result, the fire fight went on for about half an hour. In this clash, there was no casualty on the
Ta’ang Army side. One killed on the Myanmar Army side.
